Our Signature Onsite Event
You can’t “sell” your way to business engagement. There are major differences that underpin transactional and transformational strategic outreach efforts—you need to apply both approaches and know the difference so you can strategically align your engagement efforts and resources to maximize outcomes. Key to this understanding is also knowing that the development of a highly functional business engagement team and network that is charged to interact successfully with public and private partners requires an expanded business solutions portfolio that serves businesses during all business cycles. Boot Camp graduates are able to immediately apply a market-responsive, customer-centric framework to increase employer reach within their regions.
Boot Camp is delivered onsite (8-hours or 4 hours onsite and 4 hours on online) supported by a state-of-the-art learning management system (eUniversity) to sustain learning outcomes. Graduates of Boot Camp receive accredited CEUs documented on their personalized Certificate of Completion. What's included in the Business Engagement Boot Camp® package:
All items noted below are included except for the venue. It is the responsibility of the host organization to provide the event location:
- 8-hour professional development learning event with two facilitators.
- 24/7 access to Business U’s eUniversity (LMS), an online classroom specifically developed for your event.
- Business engagement onsite toolkit including templates.
- Accredited CEUs documented on your personalized Certificate of Completion.
- Technical support prior, during, and after Boot Camp.
- Continental breakfast and lunch.
- Travel, transportation, and hotel accommodation for two facilitators.
- Event planning & logistical support.
- Web-based registration system: Business U manages the entire registration process for the Boot Camp event. Each participant will receive a unique login to access the eUniversity for future reference.
- Graduates are eligible to participate in our Alumni Association to access alumni events for peer-to-peer learning, updates to templates and live business engagement webinars.

Expanding Reach & Buy-In
With apprenticeship models and other work-based learning opportunities gaining traction as proven workforce development strategies, it becomes increasingly important for workforce and education stakeholders to create coordinated systems to engage both traditional and non-traditional businesses interested in apprenticeship opportunities.
This eight-week course is designed to help organizations build transformational relationships with employers and stakeholders to maximize reach for engagement in work-based learning including internships, mentorships, apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship and site tours to name a few. The course culminates in the development of a strategic business engagement action plan with goals, strategies, tactics and measurable objectives to coordinate and expand employer outreach as well as leverage system stakeholder resources.

Certified Business Services Leader™
This capacity building learning event is designed for workforce and education professionals who hold a leadership or supervisory position within their organization, and who are charged with regional coordination and/or internal team management of business services staff and their working relationships with their respective career coaches and external partners in community colleges and economic development.
The business services leader will be facilitated through a structured process that results in a cultural shift to build transformational relationships with businesses, partners and their respective teams.
Each cohort lasts eight consecutive weeks where participants tackle demand-driven strategies using a business engagement framework that focuses on relationship building approaches and operational components to support and sustain their efforts.
Participants apply knowledge and skills to engage business and industry successfully as a partner in sector strategies, career pathways, work-based learning, and as a customer with government-funded services. The course culminates with a portfolio of engagement tools and an interactive capstone project—a strategic business engagement action plan (BEAP) that includes a one-on-one consultation (final oral exam) with the course facilitators.
